Cannon Beach and Astoria can be easily combined in a one day trip. Take Hwy 30 from Portland to Astoria, then Hwy 101 to Cannon Beach and return to Portland via hwy 26.

we did astoria and cannon beach on one day trip and thoroughly enjoyed both.

we also visited mt st helens on a separate day trip and enjoyed that too.

what about mt hood, the fruit loop and the waterfalls and gorges- that was a great day trip.

Hi, Cannon Beach is an easy day trip, about 90 munites fro Portland, Astoria is about 30 minutes from Cannon Beach, so you could easily do both places. I would spend the morning in Cannon Beach, exploring Ecola State Park and Indian Beach, a lunch at Mo%26#39;s would be nice, you would have views of Haystack Rock here. www.cannon-beach.net
