When to go

Hello. We have two possible time frames for visiting Oregon this year, including a stop at Crater Lake - the first two weeks of June or the last week of August through the first week of September. Here is a possible itinerary:

Arr. Portland

Head to coast

Cross over to Crater Lake

Wine country

Back to Portland (maybe Mt. Hood first)

We%26#39;ve read that in June some services/roads won%26#39;t be available at Crater Lake. We%26#39;re also wondering if the weather would better at the end of August.

Any thoughts and recommendations about which time frame would be best would be appreciated.

When to go

Yes, the weather is typically much better in late August vs June. For Crater Lake, definitely not June.

When to go

For Crater Lake, June is iffy, August reliable. The coast will be nicer, too ;-)
