D'Sands or Pelican Shores?

I%26#39;m trying to organize a mini family reunion (20 something people and a few toddlers) and I%26#39;m debating between these two hotels. Any advice?

BTW, We%26#39;re going to be coming in the middle of september. Will the weather still be ok around that time?

thanks!

D'Sands or Pelican Shores?

We%26#39;ve stayed at D%26#39;Sands several times. Great place with kids, the units have a full kitchen. The larger units have a fireplace, chair and couch and a Murphy bed in the living room with two queen beds in the bedroom. All the rooms have ocean view with either a balcony or patio--about 20 steps down to the beach that is lighted at night. Also have a nice indoor pool.

Have never been to Pelican Shores.

D'Sands or Pelican Shores?

I have not stayed in either one, but know where both are. If it matters, at a guess, I%26#39;d say the Pelican Shores would be quieter, since the D%26#39;Sands is right on Hwy 101 and right next to the public parking lot of the D River wayside.

September usually has lovely weather and is one of the driest months. Now watch it prove me wrong and you%26#39;ll have rain every day . . . ;-)

We are currently staying at the D Sands....we have been coming here from Canada annually since the 70%26#39;s and would highly recommend. Although it is on the highway, and next to a parking lot, you would not know as the rooms are all on the ocean side. The only sound you will hear are the sounds of waves crashing on the shore.

If you are looking for a low key, family get together, this would be it. I, too, have never stayed at Pelican Shores....never had the need. We have found all we could want at the D-Sands. Clean, great service, fully stocked kitchen. indoor pool for the kids, and close to everything you could want....most importantly, the ocean and unobstructed views.

D%26#39;Sands is awesome, I%26#39;ve stayed there a few times. Great customer service as well as beautiful rooms with gorgeous views.

From booking my room with their night receptionist (who is awesome, by the way!), to checking in, and checking out it has always been the best experience I have ever had at a hotel or motel.

Hi-

I am going to suggest Pelican Shores. The rooms were nice. I had looked at D Sand%26#39;s but they looked not as nice. The Pelican Shores is not on the main hwy, which also makes it a plus. Hwy 101 can get busy and loud!

Pelican shores is very nice. We have had our family there twice for get-togethers. D-Sands is more convenient to the sand, as Pelican shores is high-bank (with stairs). The area around Pelican shores is much quieter than D Sands. D Sands is right at the public beach wayside with bathrooms.
