Coast camping trip

I am from Eastern Oregon and currently live in Bend. I have not spent very much time on the Oregon coast. My husband and I are planning a camping trip for the last weekend in May (leaving Saturday night %26amp; coming back on Tuesday).

Does anyone have any advice as far as the best places to camp out? We%26#39;d like to try a different place each night. Should we make reservations at the campgrounds or is it safe to just fly by the seat of our pants?? We are planning on just camping in a tent. We also have 4 dogs that will be travelling with us. Does anyone know the specific rules concerning dogs on the beaches? Are they allowed on all of them?

Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!

Is that Memorial Day weekend? If so, make your reservations *immediately* if you want to stay in SP%26#39;s. Reservations are a good idea anytime after about mid-April, but that weekend is always packed. Be prepared for rain ;-)

It is the weekend after Memorial Day. I have to work over Memorial Day weekend and we figured it would be waaayyy less crowded. We like quiet and are not so fond of crowds.

If it is predicted to be sunny, it will be very busy. Will remain very, very busy until about mid or end of October.

Even after Mem Day it will be busy. I would guess most of State Parks are full, though maybe not, check their website, but for sure I would not wing it. Forest Service CGs may not be as busy . They range from Yachats to North Bend.
