ISO: A Big Box Store!

I%26#39;m sure some of you guys won%26#39;t like my post but as a family on a budget, I NEED this info. ;)

We will be driving from PDX to Seaside and need to find a place to stock up on essentials that we don%26#39;t want to pack such as diapers, water, and of course sand castle making equipment.

Can you recomend an easy on-off Target/Walmart on the way to stock up? I know Seaside pretty much just has IGA.

Thanks!

there is a target in the tannesborne shopping area --its just off hwy 26 at the 185 ave exit -- its an easy off on

ISO: A Big Box Store!

For groceries, if needed, Seaside has a Safeway store on Hwy 101.

Just north of Seaside a few miles is a Fred Meyer and Costco.

The Fred Meyer and Costco in Warrenton (15 minutes or so from Seaside) are both very nice places to shop. There are also Safeways in Seaside and Astoria, we prefer the store in Astoria which is newer and nicer. Have fun! www.seasideor.com is a nice website for this area. :)

So you drive to the Astoria Safeway for groceries rather than shop the one in Seaside, syrahgirl? What is it that makes the Astoria on that much better?

I%26#39;ve been to the Safeway in Seaside, seemed nicer, newer and larger than our old one in Newport . . .

Related question. Last time we were in the Astoria/Warrenton Costco, a clerk at the outside hotdog stand told me they were planning on building a new Costco in the area. Anybody know anything about it?

BTW, boycrazy, not sure where you%26#39;re from, but ';Warrenton'; is a very small town just south of Astoria across the bay.

www.oldoregon.com is a nice website for the Astoria/Warrenton area. Have fun! :)

Safeway, that%26#39;s what I meant. Thanks for all the suggestions. I think we will make a stop at Target. :)

Syrahgirl, thought maybe you might know about the possible new Costco since you are there so much?

If you take HWY 101 to Astoria then down to Seaside from there... There are a Target and Walmart in Longview, if you take hwy 101 to Longview you can get to either one, for Target you continue one more exit past longview to Kelso, and it is right off the exit, take a left at the light.

For walmart it is in Longview itself, use mapquest it is easier than me explaining :).
