My favorites would be (in no particular order):

Patricia Green Cellars

Shea Wine Cellar

LeBete

Brick House

Beaux Freres

Westry

By the way, be sure to check hours of operation at each winery. Many open early and close early.

Also, just an FYI, there will be tasting fees on Memorial Day Weekend, some wineries will refund all or a portion with a purchase. Most will have some food out (cheeses, bread, nuts, perhaps additional items too). So you may, or may not, need to stop for lunch. That will depend on your preferences.

dont forget rex hill vineyards -

I also like all those places, but does Shea ever open to the public, PDXWineauxs?

Brick House, Patricia Green, and Beaux Freres are all accessed from North Valley Rd in Newberg. Another good stop along that route would be Bergstrom. Westry is in McMinnville, as is Le Bete. And I believe Le Bete%26#39;s sharing facilities with Coeur de Terre, which also make some wonderful wine.

So, you could plan a circular route from Newberg, jfd, maybe stopping in Dundee on the return to Portland if time allows and the credit card%26#39;s not maxed out. PDXWineauxs is also right about tasting fees. We stopped by Brick House last Thanksgiving weekend, and they were asking $25/person. Expect something similar at many of these places.

If you get a chance stop in at the Dundee Bistro for lunch or dinner. During the summer calling ahead for recommendations is probably a good idea. The steamed clams are inredible as is the rest of the menu. Plus good wine is served. And no, I do not work for them.

shea will be open that weekend--has a $10 tasting fee.

Yes, on holiday weekends and by appointment.

PS, the Shea family built a winery at their vineyard a little over a year ago. Prior to this building, their wines were made at:

Ken Wright (ken made the Pinots)

Panther Creek (Michael Steveson made the Chardonnay)

Patricia Green (Patty made the Pinot Noirs for 2 years after Ken)

Adelsheim (Shea had their own winemaker and leased space at Adelsheim.

I know, I know, more info than was asked for. I worked for both Patty and the Shea%26#39;s.
