Need advice/help with South to North Oregon Coast itinerary

We are planning on driving from Northern CA to Northern OR. We have a tentative itinerary, but need specific advice.

Night 1 - Will be spent in Trinidad CA

Drive from Trinidad, CA up Oregon Coast. I would love to drive directly up to Yachats in order to stay 2 nights in this area, but would that be too much driving in one day? I have read on the posts that the scenery from Fort Orford to Florence is not that exciting so maybe the long drive (over 5 hrs) would be okay. We do however want to be able to enjoy the scenery.

Other option would be to stay overnight in Bandon in lieu of 2 nights in Yachats.

We plan on also spending 1 night in Lincoln City, and one night in Astoria, sightseeing on the way. Any suggestions?

I don%26#39;t think the drive from Trinidad to Yachats is too much for a one-day drive. We did it from Eugene to Trinidad a few years for a family gathering; and we often overnight in the Eureka/Arcata area when we have to take the coastal route to the Bay Area in the winter. Of course, most of your sightseeing will be through your car windows, but you should be able to get out once in awhile and explore on foot (which will break up the driving and keep you fresh anyway).

We go from near Yachats to the Eureka area at least twice a year. It takes us about 6.5 hours to Trinidad. That is including one brief fuel/rest stop. So it depends upon how much you like to stop, get out, take photos, walk around and so on.

Lincoln City is not particularly scenic, although there is a nice long flat beach there. If you are visiting in summer, be prepared for traffic congestion. It is about 1.5 hours north of Yachats.

Astoria is on the river, not ocean. It has some nice B%26amp;B%26#39;s and a couple of river view motels.
