I haven%26#39;t stayed in the resort so I can%26#39;t say anything about it, but the Diamond Lake area is beautiful.

Diamond Lake is near the north entrance.

The north entrance is closed until maybe mid-June.

I guess I forgot to ask when propking was coming. The closest lodging to the south entrance would be the historic prospect hotel, which I know a lot of people and groups have stayed at with rave reviews. Comfortable lodging with great community meals.

propking is coming on the Coast Starlight from Seattle to Eugene and renting a car. I don%26#39;t think he ever said WHEN he was coming...or, if he was coming in next month or so, if he was expecting to have to deal with snow or ice.

In summer, Diamond Lake is a great location for daily activities and the short trip to Crater Lake. Before June, I would recommend that he either check out the Prospect Hotel or, if that%26#39;s too expensive, plan on staying in Medford and doing the day trip to Crater Lake. Getting to Klamath Falls, his next destinatin, is another matter. I am assuming he is planning to catch the Coast Starlight back to Seattle from Klamath Falls (?). If so, he needs to know the train comes from L.A. and can be on time...or hours late.

You%26#39;re right, o%26#39;poppa, propking has not said when he is planning to visit - I guess I assumed soon ;-)

Propking, it would be a LOT easier on us if you would state some basic info!

Other than what%26#39;s been suggested, there aren%26#39;t many options around Crater Lake.

I%26#39;m wondering why Klamath Falls. I read in another thread that you%26#39;re planning to tour southern Oregon. Think you%26#39;d much prefer a southwestern Oregon loop that could include Ashland, Jacksonville, Oregon Caves, Jedediah Smith Redwoods, and the south coast.

It%26#39;s difficult to give solid advice when the original poster doesn%26#39;t respond to our questions.

I had assumed he wanted to go to Klamath Falls to get the train back to Seattle. On re-reading his original posting, however, it seems he wants to spend 2-3 days IN Klamath Falls (why, we don%26#39;t know) and then get ';back to Cottage Grove.'; The train doesn%26#39;t go to Cottage Grove, so that means driving...or taking the train to Eugene again and renting another car or catching a Greyhound. It%26#39;s all quite confusing.

Please, propking, clear it all up for us.
