Need trip advice to vancouver

My family of 5 is driving from Orange County to Vancouver this Friday. We plan to stay there for about 3 days. We plan to be back by the following Saturday. In between,my kids would like to stay or drive by Forks, Washington. Which route is the best to take and where is a worthwhile overnight stopover between Los Angeles and Vancouver? I really would appreciate an immediate feedback. Thanks!

Assume you mean Vancouver BC and not Vancouver WA.

The fastest way would be to drive north on I-5. If you are willing to drive 10-11 hours a day, one stopover in Ashland or Medford would be about halfway. Otherwise you will need to divide the trip into 3 days drive.

Suggest that you post to the Washington forum regarding the trip from Vancouver to Forks. It would require 2 days for the side trip as Forks is on the west side of the Olympic National Park.

Forks will add a LOT of time to your trip to Vancouver BC. Your speed on the roads from Olympia to Forks and Forks to Port Angeles will be about 50 mph. Take the ferry at Port Angeles (the Coho on the Black Ball Line) to Victoria, then take BC Ferries from Sidney to Vancouver to save more time. I don%26#39;t think this route LA to Vancouver via Forks is doable in a day.

Post on the Washington forum, and you%26#39;ll get info from several who live out in the area by Forks.
