Bars / clubs in Portland

Hello all,

I wonder if you can help! My girlfriend and i are in Portland for a week or so and am trying to get some hints / tips on good bars and clubs to visit.

We%26#39;re both mid 20%26#39;s and smokers (but happy to smoke outside if needs be), into indie(ish) music (not metal) and some dance.

Where would you suggest?! Lively, friendly and fun would be the wish list.

We%26#39;re planning to have a pretty big night on Friday (this one coming up), so any bar-then-club itineraries for then would be much appreciated :).

PS we%26#39;re from England, if that makes any difference (not sure why it would!).

Plus a 1/2 dozen more places tucked in along a 5 block strip of Burnside.

Yup, what jasone said. It%26#39;s perfect for folks in their mid-twenties. Unless you%26#39;re super pretty. In that case you have to go to places like XV and Ohm and Bettie Ford and the like in Chinatown/Oldtown.

Hmmm.... my son and his girlfriend, both in their early 20%26#39;s, like Dirty. They must not be pretty enough!!

Oregone, you should jump into the Inexpensive Dinner thread. Guy%26#39;s asking about Dante%26#39;s, or other possibles for a bachelor party. When I got married, Mary%26#39;s Club was pretty much it.

Thanks mistletoe. I noticed he took my advice on priceline so maybe he%26#39;ll end up at Safari in May. God help him.
