Eaten at Chinook Winds?

We are going to a concert at Chinook Winds, and would normally do dinner at Blackfish or Wildflower. But while looking at the Casino website, I noticed that 2 of their several restaurants looked pretty decent - a steakhouse and a seafood place. I%26#39;m normally pretty wary of hotel dining....anyone eaten at either of those places?

Eaten at Chinook Winds?

We were at Chinook Winds about a week and a half ago. We decided against eating there because it was way too smokey. The smell was awful upstairs near all of their restaurants.

Eaten at Chinook Winds?

They are still allowing smoking in the casino???

Yes because the Casino is owned by the tribe and doesn%26#39;t have to follow state laws regarding smoking.

If you do gamble, there is a small room that is for non-smokers. However, the place it still very smoky!

Wow!! I was not aware of that at all. Thought there were only certain exceptions for Cigar bars. I just assumed the casinos were following suit.

We were glad we went somewhere else to eat. For people with kids, they offer a nice babysitting service. IT was only $9.95 for 2 hours at their Playstructure building. We were given a pager. I guess they assume that you will stay at the casino and gamble longer with childcare. Instead we went to Pier 101 on the main road and had a nice seafood dinner without any smoke.

Oh no. They are in there own little world when it comes to that. Casinos are as smokey as ever!!

I have ate at the Rogue Room and have had hit and miss experiences. For the most part its fairly decent.

Now the Seafood place that is over in the hotel, i have not actually ate at. I went there one night with my husband and we sat for 15minutes, never were acknowledged by our server. He kept going back to take care of the table of six though which was only a few feet away. Highly rude!

To my knowledge, ALL Indian Casinos are exempt from the no-smoking law.

Grande Ronde (Spirit Mountain) recently opened up their huge new buffet, replacing their older smaller one. The nice thing about the new one is that it is way off away from the smoky gambling area, and the buffet plus the other restaurant has clean air :-)

Chinook Winds can be pretty choking; I think all the smoke drifts upstairs.

At the Chinook Winds the upstairs sit down restaurant is unusual for a casino in that it has an excellent view. It was not smoky when we were there because it was pretty empty -- it isn%26#39;t as popular as the buffet, and is farther from the gaming floor.

We also used the ';baby casino'; babysitting service (they played quarter video games for several hours). The kids liked it, and we had a nice meal.
