Cannon Beach Property Management

Has anyone ever stayed at one of their houses (Koblegarde鈥檚 Beach House, Sister鈥檚, Sand Dollar, Spindrift, Surfshack, Hemlock House, Sea Pines, Graceful Getaway -- dog friendly houses under $150 per night in the off season)?

What was your experience with the company?

Were the houses clean and in good repair?

If anyone has stayed in any other dog-friendly (40-50 lbs) houses/cottages in Cannon Beach that were nice, and rent out for a couple of days in the fall/winter, please feel free to let us know too!

Thanks for any info anyone can provide.

We stayed at the Koblegarde house, not really beach front but very close. It%26#39;s basically right behind the Ocean Lodge. The experience with the company was fine, the people we dealt with were polite and helpful.

The house itself was fairly clean but was well lived in. The kitchen was lacking but there was enough to get by. Cheap towels and linens so I would bring my own in the future. You can even pick up wifi from the Ocean Lodge.

I don%26#39;t know if I would stay in the same house again but wouldn%26#39;t have a problem using Cannon Beach Property Management again.

My dog %26amp; I and family stayed at Graceful Getaway in summer 2007. Good experience with the company. The house was decent %26amp; in ok shape, not fabulous but good enough. Nice big deck off the back plus a balcony off the living room. Deck%26#39;s chairs were in sad shape though, had to highjack the plastic ones from the balcony. Something of an ocean view which was a good perk. Two bedrooms downstairs, kitchen up, living room up from that, with an exposed -to-the-living-room loft that you don%26#39;t want your grandma or young kids in. It%26#39;s up a hill on a side street off a busy road. The side street it%26#39;s on is quiet %26amp; good for taking the dog out at night %26amp; in the morning. You can walk to the beach by going down the side street, then crossing the busy road, %26amp; heading down the hill to the beach. Not too far for a healthy person, it%26#39;s easy enough.

the back yard wasn%26#39;t fenced %26amp; was dirt when we were there because a house next door was having major work, but when the grass grows back would be good for dog stops.

Betelgeuze1 and OregonAnn, thanks for the replies.

We%26#39;ve rented from Cannon Beach Property Management for several years and they have been very accommodating. All houses are individually owned, which their website has pictures of each. We have stayed at Lighthouse with our Labrador and 2 kids and have loved the close, private access to the beach. The house is great for sunset and storm watching. Its location at midtown allows you to access the free shuttle service into the main section of town. The house is perfect for BBQing and has an outside shower for washing off the kids and dogs. The house may not be high luxury but it was very clean and comfortable. The kids love to rent the beach bikes and ride during low tide. Last trip my daughter kept busy collecting many sand dollars. Cannon Beach is perfect for romantic getaways as well as vacations with kids.

Glad you enjoyed your time in Cannon Beach UCSB and welcome to the travel forums! :)

We stayed in this house in March 2009 it is a nice property and the decks are great one big one off the ';main'; floor and then one small one off the living room. They say the place sleeps six but i can%26#39;t imagine 2 people sleeping in the loft. There is one large couch that someone could sleep on. The TV is questionable, we had a couple of very stormy rainy nights and we brought DVD%26#39;s with us, but the place is only equiped with a VCR and TV receptions was not too great. The bathroom is also very small don%26#39;t try to bend over in the shower. Also if you have 6 people i would recommend bringing some of your own bath towels, the ones provided were marginal at best. It is a nice clean place and the kitchen is well stocked with glasses, plates, and other items you would need. I loved the view, it is better than I expected. It is in a nice location very quite area. I would definately stay there again.

There are a couple property management companies in town, but I%26#39;d recommend trying VRBO.com (Vacation Rentals By Owner). We used the online service to locate five rentals for our wedding (one for us and my hubby%26#39;s family, and four others for various family and friends), and all were great deals and exactly as advertised (or better!). You%26#39;ll want to check and make sure that specific properties allow dogs, and then will want to double-check with the owners to verify their policies and the sizes of dogs they%26#39;ll accept.

Otherwise, you can find a list of all the property management companies located in the town on the Cannon Beach website:

Note: most, especially in the summer (aka ';high season';) require between three days to a week or even two weeks%26#39; rental at a time; this often has to do with the location of the house (residential rental rules are stricter), as well as the demand.

Please, everybody take note of the *date* of the original post.
