Thanks

We%26#39;ve been going to SurfSand Resort for years; on the beach, close to downtown, indoor pool %26amp; fitness room, weenie roasts on the beach... My kids love the place. Others I think are probably suitable for families: Ocean Lodge, Hallmark Resort (though its on a low bluff above the beach), and Schooners Cove Inn. Another possibility might be Lands End.

I would check out the Ocean Lodge, right next to the Stephanie Inn (no kids under 12 here). This is in the Tolvana Park area of Cannon Beach, in a gorgeous setting. Make sure you visit Ecola State Park, spend some time at Indian Beach. This is a great place for a picnic with your family. www.cannon-beach.net is a nice website for this area.

Enjoy your time with your family at the coast! :)

lands end in cannon beach has some bechfront rooms- including some with small kitchenettes

Haven%26#39;t stayed in any of %26#39;em (well, within the last 20 years, lol), but here is a list:

We stayed at the Ocean Lodge last July, and the Hallmark over Christmas. I think both are great properties with great locations on the beach.

I would say that Ocean Lodge has nicer rooms and breakfast is included.

Hallmark is located much closer to Haystack rock which makes it more convenient for exploring the tide pools at low tide there. (The kids will love it...so will you actually :) The Hallmark also has an indoor pool.

The staffs at both were fantastic, and we will be visiting both properties in the future!

Hallmark is great! The pool building is really nice. We have also stayed at Surfsand, but don%26#39;t really like the remodeled units. They have a living room in front and bedroom in the back, but the couch etc. do not take advantage of the oceanfront view. Hallmark seems to do a better job of catering to kids. YOu can get packages that include campfires on the beach. They also have sand toys available.

Another vote for the Surfsand. That is always our hotel of choice, and they are great with families. They are the only hotel on the OR coast with cabana service as well. They have sand toys and kites for your complimentary use, and adirondack chairs and umbrellas set out in the sand. They will do s%26#39;more parties for you, build you a fire...all sorts of stuff. On Sunday afternoons they have complimentary Tillamook ice cream. Anyway, you get the idea:) It is a very nice hotel, and we love the location. It is an easy walk to the heart of downtown, yet is very close to Haystack Rock as well.

I was going to recommend the

Tolovana Inn, condominium rentals a few miles south of Cannon Beach; a nice family accommodation and directly on the beach in a relaxed atmopsphere still close to Haystack Rock, etc.

We have stayed there often in the past. But I heard there was a fire there a few months ago? When I went online recently to see if we could book for this summer, the availability calender was very full...made me wonder if the fire was more serious than I thought...anyone know? Thanks.

Another vote for the Surfsand. Hands down the best oceanfront property in Cannon beach. Close to town, yet far enough away that you have peace and quiet. The beds are the super comfortable Tempurpedic mattresses, the pool is indoors, and they have a real nice fitness center. Plus they are super family friendly with a kids club, sand toys, and even activities that keep the kids busy.
