Beach wedding in Aug or Sept

My daughter is planning a beach wedding in Bandon, Oregon in August or September, depending on availability of the Beach houses. We have heard

mixed messages about the weather as far as rain, low day time temperatures and high winds during these months.

Are these bad months to plan a beach wedding?

Beach wedding in Aug or Sept

Late August through Mid-September are usually the BEST for weather along the entire coast, though no one can say for sure. The north winds have usually subsided by then (a good thing!!) and daytime temps should be in the high 60%26#39;s to low 70%26#39;s with lows around 50潞. I%26#39;d go for it!!!

Regarding weddings on the beach, a permit is required from Oregon State Parks for ANY formal function taking place on the ocean shores. Depending on the size of the party and how elaborate the set up, fees can run from $100 (min) to hundreds of dollars. For the Bandon area, contact the park manager at Bullards Beach State Park at 541-347-2209 for more information.

You DO NOT want to hold a function without a permit as fines are quite steep if caught!!!

Bandon is usually quite breezy in the summer and should be calmer by mid Sept. Temps are good, upper 60%26#39;s to mid 70%26#39;s, and rain is unlikely.

Dengay, would you please cite the appropriate ORS requiring permits for non-commercial gatherings?

I have done some research and find sections wherein permits are required for property improvements, vehicle, aircraft and ATV use, placing of pipes, and removal of products . . . but nothing stating that a permit is required for a non-commercial gathering.

I%26#39;m not convinced one needs a permit for a wedding *other than* in a State Park. However, I cannot locate an ORS permit requirement for a non-commercial gathering even *within* a State Park!

If a wedding is performed on the beach in front of private property, not in a State Park, I don%26#39;t think a permit is required.

However, I am neither an attorney nor a Park employee as you are, so perhaps you could help me out?

I hope you have as good a luck as we did - Sept 18th many years ago - 80 degrees!
