Downtown Hotel with a fun bar???

My bf and I are planning to spend the weekend in Portland and are looking for a decent hotel downtown that may have a fun bar in the hotel? It doesn%26#39;t need to be a nightclub type of thing, just not someplace that has a bar with 4 barstools. Someplace that we can have a drink before we hit the town or something.

We would prefer a 4 star hotel, but are willing to go down a little on that.

Any suggestions for some fun places to go at night are welcomed, too!

I%26#39;m kinda partial to the driftwood room at the deLuxe myself. Might not be for everyone though.

Not a big fan of the Hilton bar.

Just based on what we saw via pics the Hilton doesn%26#39;t look like much. We%26#39;ll check out the other place! Thanks for the info! =)

Until you mentioned ';4 star'; I was think Jupiter Hotel all the way. Doug Fir isn%26#39;t in the hotel, but shares the parking lot.

Also thought of ACE Hotel, with Clyde Commons off the lobby. Decent bar, and even better restaurant.

Can%26#39;t argue with Hotel De Luxe and Driftwood though.

Two %26#39;4-star%26#39; places that came to mind are Hotel Lucia/Bo Restobar and Hotel Monaco/Red Star Tavern...

You guys are a big help! Thanks! We%26#39;re heading down this evening. It%26#39;s crazy, I%26#39;ve been to Portland many many times (my grandmother used to live there) but I have never really spent any time downtown! I believe it%26#39;s time! =)

If it is not too late.. The Heathman bar was always hopping, but I liked Monaco/Red Star Tavern the best !

Another vote for the Monaco. Even with living here, we stay there on occassion for a fun night out. Their bar (Red Star Tavern) has really good drinks, especially their signature drink:)

PCG is fine for an early drink and to check out the views...but the meat market atmosphere makes me want out of there soon after. Just not into that, lol!

Henry%26#39;s is a lot of fun. Fantastic ice trough for your drinks, or head upstairs to the billiards room (which has its own bar in there as well so you don%26#39;t have to go back downstairs).

Southpark also has great drinks:)
