Memorial Day Weekend - Campgrounds

Just in case you were planning on staying in a campground this weekend...it appears all spots for state campgrounds have been reserved.

You can also try the Forest Service Campgrounds, looks like most of them are open in the Mt. Hood National Forest, but I am guessing with nice weather in the forecast they are pretty full as well.

Memorial Day Weekend - Campgrounds

DH and DS were camping this weekend. They said there was still a lot of snow at Timothy Lake. They were able to get the boat in there and camp, but they said the campground we normally go to was still covered in snow. Wonder how much will melt this week...

We will be at the wineries instead this weekend though. Helping a friend out at his, so that should be fun!

That is normal for the coast and apparently the rest of the state is full as well. Some private campgrounds may still have availability.

I checked the forest service site and was surprised that all the campgrounds were open. Seems like last year we were well in to June before they opened up, and we had less snow.

I was just kind of surprised to hear all the state parks were booked up. I figured there might be some openings in Eastern Oregon.

I think we are headed to Siletz this weekend to visit the in-laws. Time will be spent on the beach around Newport. If the weather takes a turn, good with the good old stadby and hit up the aquarium.
