Sure have sugeestions what do you like??

Also, how much driving do you want to do? How long do you want to stay in each place? Will your car have 4wd? Are you renting a propane stove or is this just a strictly hot dogs and beer sorta operation? Do you like rain, or should we send you to the dry side of the state? Are you a reservations kinda person or a late check-in?

If you can give us some more information on where you want to go, what you want to see, we can be of more help.

State and federal campgrounds use www.reserveamerica.com for their reservations. That might be a place you want to start for looking at what is available where, and then maybe return for some more specific information.

We like to hike, explore new areas, driving is no problem and will not have a 4 wheel drive car. Casual, nothing fancy. A cabin or hotel would be great but not necessary.

Yes, we will have a car but no 4WD. We enjoy driving and would be nice to mix it up. Hiking is our passion, fishing, being outside at awesome places is what we want to experience. Not more than a day or two in each location...or have a base camp and drive to where we need to. It%26#39;s just us two going for 9 days.

We will most likly travel with our tent and bags. Rent a stove propane and no hot dogs! Rain doesn%26#39;t scare us but can you hike in the rain or is it all muddy? It would depend on what is to see...we want to see the rivers...

So think of this, if I were to tell you about a place to go to in California that would take your breath away I would say ';Yosemite';...so that%26#39;s what I%26#39;m looking for in Oregon...your Yosemite.

Silver Falls State Park . . .

Crater Lake National Park (but will still have snow) . . .

Newberry Volcanic National Monument . . .

Columbia River Gorge Scenic Area . . .

From Portland, Travel EAST on HWY 84, following the Columbia River:

Stop at Multnomah Falls- nice paved trail to the top

See the Bonneville Dam

Eat Lunch in Cascade Locks

Take Hwy 35 around the ';fruit loop'; (mostly orchards) which takes you up and around Mt Hood

Back side of mountain take hwy 26- stay in Welches

GORGEOUS day...

If you want to see the Coast, many of our out of town company loves Depot Bay- not much sand, but beautiful, with a rock formation known as the %26#39;spouting horn%26#39; where the surf comes in and is forced through a small space into the air

Yachats (further south) is a great place to spend the night; there are two nearby campgrounds: Tillicum (right on the beach) and Perpetua- wooded, but just a hike down to amazing tide pools

I HIGHLY recommend you make reservations as previously stated. Many campgrounds book fast in the summer months.

Hope you enjoy your vacation

Great! Thank you so much

Well, if you want to camp, there really aren%26#39;t any campgrounds in Welches. You have to go a little further east. There are lots of Forest Service campgrounds on Mt. Hood. If you are looking for state parks and all the associated amenities, head towards the coast or down in the valley. There are some nice campgrounds in the Gorge as well.

I guess I am just having trouble suggesting because I don%26#39;t have a clear idea of what you want to see in what parts of the state.
