Hotels in Grants Pass

My boyfriend and I are travelling to Grants Pass from Scotland in September for a wedding and will be staying a few days. I have looked at various websites and really like the look of both The Riverside Inn and Motel del Rogue.

Does anyone have any suggestions of a discount hotels website to book through? And which hotel should we choose?

Thanks

Ash

Hotels in Grants Pass

Hi, we have stayed at the Riverside Inn many, many times, we used our Entertainment Book coupons for stays here for about $69/night. The property backs right to the Rogue River which is nice, some of the rooms have been remodeled here and there is a nice outdoor pool and jacuzzi at the Riverside Inn. Across the street is the Lodge @ Riverside, we have not stayed here but the property looks very nice, we have stayed in this section when it was still the Riverside Inn a few years ago.

There is also a Shilo Inn in Grant%26#39;s Pass, we have stayed here once many years ago and it was fine, they have a small pool and a sauna room. Let me know if you have any further questions on the Riverside Inn, you also get a great breakfast here in the Eagle%26#39;s Nest, a spacious breakfast room. River Rock Cafe is also right there if you want some Starbuck%26#39;s and Strawberry Waffles, yum! :)

Hi Syrahgirl,

Thanks for the reply. I think the Riverside Inn sounds really nice and I%26#39;m interested in the voucher book thing you mentioned. Where could I get hold of one? BTW I%26#39;m in Scotland!!!

The book that Syrahgirl mentions is the Entertainment Book. You can purchase them online for various cities/states. Here in the states, most people buy them through schools or sports teams as fundraisers. That said, we tried to use that coupon for the Riverside Inn a couple years ago and they would not honor it. So I would not count on being able to use it, even if you bought the book.

The Entertainment Rates are valid Sun.-Thurs. We usually book a couple of weeks in advance and have never had any trouble. :)

Instead of past experiences that are being reported, I just checked the Entertainment website (see above) and,for test purposes, put in check-in date of Sunday, Sept. 13 and check-out date of Thursday, Sept. 17. A bunch of hotels/motels came up, but NOT the Riverside Inn.

If you really like the Riverside Inn, I suggest you check their online rates and email the manager to find out if they honor the Entertainment Book anymore (and, if so, on what days) before you buy the book. We used to get the book every year, but the quality of the offerings, particularly the restaurants, has gone downhill in our opinion. When the charity we usually got the book from stopped selling it we stopped buying it.

Things are constantly changing in the lodging and restaurant areas and it is a good idea to always double check information. Last year%26#39;s info may not be valid this year (or last month%26#39;s this month!).

I think we%26#39;ve got a half-dozen Entertainment Books floating around our house; one of the consequences of having kids with fund-raising quotas. If any of you want one, I can make you a Tom Peterson kind of deal. You only have to pay shipping and handling. ;-)

But like oregonpoppa, I couldn%26#39;t find Riverside Inn on the Entertainment website. If it%26#39;s of interest, angel, I%26#39;ll check to see if there%26#39;s a coupon in the book.

Excellent response, oregonpoppa.

Isn%26#39;t it interesting how some Oregon visitors seem to stay in Ashland all the time, yet also have stayed in Grants Pass many many times?

This may sound goofy for such a small town as Grants Pass, but have you checked into Priceline/Hotwire, angel_af1?

Have you checked the TripAdvisor list? Not sure if you like them, but there are some B%26amp;Bs that seem reasonably priced.

syrah--When was the last time you stayed at the Riverside using the Entertainment book coupon?

The price on Entertainment books runs about $30 in the fall when they first go on sale and go for about half/price this time of year. I%26#39;m not sure I%26#39;d really consider that much of a deal for one hotel coupon.

Check hotels.com, priceline, etc. or call the hotels direct, sometimes you can get a deal that is not advertised on the websites.

Hello everyone,

Thank you all very much for your contributions. I have had a look at that discount book website and it doesn%26#39;t seem like the Riverside Inn is participating in this. We will be staying over a weekend anyway.

I have also looked at the Priceline and Hotwire websites but it doesn%26#39;t seem to be bringing anything up. Thank you Half-Brit for the tip though!

Riverside Inn rate works out at roughly 拢40 pppn which I don%26#39;t think is bad. We%26#39;ll probably be staying in some fairly routine motels for the rest of the 2-week trip so it will be good to have somewhere nice to stay.

One question though...is the Riverside Inn fairly central? Are there restaurants and things to do nearby? We will be hiring a car.
