Washington/Victoria Been there done that comments please

BUDGET VACATION......watching our $$$$$. ...... in JULY Day one......We are flying into Seattle then off to Olympia to spend afternoon with friends.

Next day off to Mt RAINIER. We want to stay in camping cabins or yurts on this trip(we were hikers and campers when younger). Suggestions appreciated.

We have planned one and half days at Rainer. What do I not want to miss?

When we leave Rainer mid day we are going to Mt. St Helens, again what is a must see for this stop????

That night we are driving to Aberdeen. We plan to stop at the LEWIS AND CLARK INT.CTR.(?) if time allows. Next two days we have a list of interest while traveling to Port Angeles.

COMMENTS PLEASE. What do I need to add to the list or take away?

RUBY BEACH?, BIG CEDAR TREE?, HALL OF MOSSES?, LA PUSH?,RIALTO BEACH?, SOL DUC HOT SPRINGS?, LAKE CRESCENT?,

FALLS?, HURRICANE RIDGE?, HOH? OR ANY SUGGESTION OFF THE BEATEN PATH.

POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE COMMENTS APPRECIATED.

Would like feedback on any of our points of interest. We don%26#39;t want to waste any valuable time on sights that are just on the map. We would rather see less and put our time in on things to remember. We plan on spending the night in the Forks area as a midway stopping off place on our way to Port Angeles. This would put us in the area to walk the trails and get back to the ferry for the Victoria venture.

Again, we prefer tent cabins, yurts or camping cabins. Suggestions anyone????????? or BED AND BREAKFAST $100 OR LESS!!!!!!!! HOPEFULLY LESS.

After our ventures for these two days we are off that night by ferry(last one out) from Port Angeles to Victoria (we have spent three days in Victoria on a previous vacation)

NOW THE BIG QUESTION.....SHOULD WE TAKE OUR TIME ON THE ISLAND AND GO UP THE COAST TO TOFINO?...OR PORT HARDY????? or just stay in Victoria. We plan three days on the island. WHERE TO STAY? Affordable!!!!! (where we stayed last time has been bulldozed for condos)

Then it is back on the ferry to SEATTLE.....points of interest...

SPACE NEEDLE,SAFECO FIELD,PIKES, BEST TOUR??(LAND OR WATER)???

Any comments on what we should and should ';NOT'; see will be appreciated.

We actually have 12 days that we can use on this vacation. Withe h this plan we think we will end up with an extra day or so.......... where would it be best spent??

What to see and not to see is our main interest. Where to stay that is clean and affordable.........(just a clean place to catch some zzzzzzzz and take a shower no frills needed for a traveling vacation. We want the frills when we are at resorts) Suggestions.

Thanks, LIN

Ohhhhhhhh.........any great hole in the wall places to eat along the way?? We love eating where the locals eat.

This is the forum for the great state of Oregon, also a wonderful place to visit. But re-post on the Washington forum and also search recent posts there for many of the places you mention, as well as chcking Before You Go in the Washington forum.

I know some posters on the Oregon forum could also have some good suggestions, too, especially for Mt. St. Helens and Lewis %26amp; Clark (who actually overwintered on the Oregon Coast) You could actually see the Oregon coastline (stunning) and do a loop east of Portland Oregon along the Columbia River Gorge as an alternative to Vancouver Island (no border crossing).

Have a great trip!

Yep, please post in the Washington Forum. While we boarder the state of Washington, we are a state, unto our own. ;-)

And no, OreIda does not mean that Oregon and Idaho can combined. LOL!
